990 Super Duke R 2010

The 990 Super Duke R has to be the hottest bike available manufactured in series. In this case, the KTM engineers did their utmost to develop a "machine" that would exploit to the fullest every last inch of leeway in road traffic certification: Fully adjustable 48 WP forks, ultralight mono-seat tail section, chromium molybdenum tubular trellis frame weighing a mere 9 kg as well as an additional steering damper for extreme circuit times. Out of the rut and into the race.

CHASSIS

OVERVIEW

Based on an extremely effective and very rigid chromium molybdenum tubular space frame, the 990 Super Duke R’s geometry is highly favoured for its exemplary combination of light footed handling and the highest degree of stability, even on the racetrack.

FRAME

The stability of a super bike with the weight of a mountain bike. A frame weight of just 9 kg is enough to keep 132 hp under control.

CONTROLS

Radial controls for optimum functions and perfect operability. Machined, black anodised triple clamps prove nothing is held back here.

STEERING DAMPER

Looking for even more smoothness? Click for click the WP steering damper ensures total stability, no matter how close to the limit you push it. Read to race technology as standard equipment!

REAR END

The mono seat rear end conserves valuable weight, is a real eye catcher and provides ultimate purchase, even during the most radical hang off manoeuvres and quick changes of direction.

FORKS

Thanks to its broad setup range and super sporty configuration, the WP 48 mm upside down forks guarantee the best possible damping, whether you’re on the racetrack or on a mountainside. A high quality tiain coating on the forks inner tubes gives you perfect responsiveness.

WP SHOCK ABSORBER

Directly connected to the swingarm, with adjustable rebound damping and high and low speed compression damping. 160 mm suspension travel at the rear wheel.

SWINGARM

575 mm long, the conically shaped swingarm of extruded aluminium has a characteristically lightweight yet rigid construction, as well as a new look since 2008, an all black coating!

FRONT MASK

Featuring an integrated wind spoiler for better aerodynamics and a better view of the multifunctional instrument with its analogue tachometer, digital speedometer and many additional functions.

BRAKES

Brembo braking system with a radial master cylinder, two radially mounted 4 piston brake callipers with 4 brake linings each and a 320 mm brake disc. The rear wheel is slowed with the aid of a 240 mm brake disc and a floating, single piston brake calliper.

ENGINE

OVERVIEW

The latest 990 Super Duke R relies on the tried and true performance of the latest V2 engine and offers considerably more power in comparison to the 990 Super Duke. Now with 97 kW (132 hp) at 10000 RPM, the entirely revamped LC8 engine has surpassed itself. Noting but power and performance, demanding respect even from full fairing super bikes.
