FRAME
The innovative, orange powder coated frame of high strength chrome molybdenum steel stands for optimum engine positioning and at the same time extremely low weight. At less than 7.5 kg, it is around 5 kg lighter than light alloy bridge frames and thus sets the standard when it comes to light weight. If desired, the geometry of the bike can also be varied by means of the eccentric at the pivot that allows the height of the rear end to be changed by 12 mm.
BRAKES
High end Brembo stoppers with two floating 320 mm brake discs at the front increased to 5 mm thickness for more bite and durability. Plus radial brake pump, four piston monobloc callipers and four individual pads. At the rear wheel, a Brembo two piston fixed calliper ensures a powerful grip on the 220 mm brake disc.
FORKS
43 mm WP USD forks, tiain coated fork inner tube spring adjustable over 10 mm, with 32 positions for the compression damping and 28 positions for rebound damping.
WHEELS
A further highlight are the high quality, exclusive forged wheels. Forged 3.50 x 17" and 6.00 x 17" Marchesini rims, fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP (120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear) establish new handling dimensions and outstanding traction.
OVERVIEW
With the engine of the RC8 R, the KTM engineers set yet another milestone. A larger bore and modified pistons provide a truly impressive displacement of the 1195 cc and guarantee the RC8 R an enormous 170 hp. The reinforced clutch with damper system and the optimised gearbox stand for precise, easy and quick gear shifting in the battle against the clock. Weighing only 62 kg, this lightweight powerhouse with its ultra compact dimensions sends 170 hp and a torque of 123 Nm to the rear wheel.
EXHAUST
Innovative underfloor exhaust system for optimum performance, low centre of gravity, minimum noise level and compliance with the Euro 3 values thanks to the catalytic converter.
